Love Your Park Week 2014 Continues

Love Your Park Week is back! Love Your Park Week, created by the Fairmount Park Conservancy and Philadelphia Parks & Rec, celebrates Philly's park scene and outdoor space. The week includes a boatload of events, educational programs, tours, service projects and more. Love Your Park Week kicked off on Saturday in Philly with a Kickoff Service Day.  Projects across the city cleaned over 80 parks.  The Philadelphia PumpTrack (which is a dirt course of bumps, jumps and berms, designed for BMX and mountain bikes) debuted on Saturday at 53rd & Parkside Avenue, right by the Parkside Evans Recreation Center.  Wondering how else you can celebrate Love Your Park Week? 2nd Annual Love Your Park Week Returns to Philly

Who loovveeesss your Philly parks? We're in the midst of the 2nd annual Love Your Park Week, designed by the Fairmount Park Conservancy & Philadelphia Parks & Rec to celebrate our city's diverse parks. From May 11 - 18, Philadelphia hosts service projects, events, education programs, family activities & more. Festivities kicked off on Saturday with the Love Your Park Service Day, where hundreds of residents volunteered in their neighborhoods. With over 70 events, there's something for music lovers, art lovers, nature lovers, yogis and more. (I personally love a good ol' glass of wine & several plates of cheese in front of me in Philly parks, which I plan on doing again sooon enough...) How can you Clean, Green & Celebrate Philly Parks? Wheel Fun Rentals Open Today in Fairmount Park

Not ready to bite the bullet and purchase a bike yet? You can now give it a spin by renting one in Fairmount Park! Today, Mayor Nutter, Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and Fairmount Park Conservancy welcomed Wheel Fun Rentals to Fairmount Park at 3 locations: Lloyd Hall (Boathouse Row), Love Park & Bathey House/Trolley Car Cafe in East Falls.
