Philadelphia is celebrating its 8th Park(ing) Day today!

This world annual event began in San Francisco in 2005, to reimagine what could happen when parking spaces were transformed into temporary public parks. Each year, hundreds of organizations transform spots into places to relax, cycle, create art, educate and socialize with peers.

Where to Find Park(ing) Day Spots:

Park(ing) Day has a very useful map to find a local ‘park’let:

Philadelphia Parks & Rec and the Fairmount Park Conservancy have a cute lil’ forest set up at 16th & JFK:

We’re here with @myphillypark at 16th & JFK! Come see our urban forest! #ParkingDay #parkingdayphl pic.twitter.com/swejtyut5X

And right outside Reading Terminal Market:

Hey @RdgTerminalMkt! Did you know there's a #PARKingDayPHL spot right outside? Visit us at 12th and Arch pic.twitter.com/tzKxhoE5r8

Readers, share your #PARKingDayPHL photos! We want to see them (and will be sharing a few from Twitter & Instagram today, too!) 🙂
