Museum Volunteer Learning Days

This volunteer program was made for those with an interest in museum/archive work. Join us on Saturdays from 10AM-12PM during the months of October and November to learn new museum and archival skills.

October 4, 2025 – Introduction to HSG

• Get to know the objects and exhibits

• Learn how to interact with visitors

October 11, 2025 – From Acid-Free to Z-Fold: Storage Story/Introduction to Cataloging

• Learn how to store special collections, safe object handling, etc.

• Special guest lecture

October 18, 2025 – Continuation of last week

October 25, 2025 – Conquer Cursive

• How to read historic cursive!

November 1, 2025 – Caring for Collections

• Help clean historic objects using an object vacuum, dusting, etc.

November 8, 2025 -Red Rot Rescue!

• Learn how to treat red-rot.

November 15, 2025 – Book Making – Understanding the Library

• Hands-on work in our library.

November 22, 2025 – Celebration!
