TD Bank’s missions include TD Tree Days and Green Streets, increasing urban forests and green spaces. TD Tree Days Partnering with the Nature Conservancy of Canada and the US, they’ve protected 1846 acres (1420 football fields!) of trees and helped with tree planting. Launched in 2010, Tree Days will plant over 45,000 trees with volunteers in over 165 communities. You can volunteer during the TD Tree Days too. Between my love of whiskey, local brews & organic wines, it's no secret I love a nice drink to unwind. But if you were like 20,000 of my closest friends at the Food Trust's South Street Night Market last evening, you may have enjoyed some delicious food last evening. (I sampled our fav Farm Truck, the Cheese Curds & a cupcake.) Oh, and maybe tried a few drinks last night. And like me, you may be faced with one of those obnoxious hangovers. I don't like all these back-to-school commercials. I'm annoyed with the "looks for Fall" emails from my favorite fashion sites flooding my inbox. I love summer, longer days and the slightly slower pace that comes with it. Don't get me wrong - I adore Fall too. I'm.just.not.ready. However, seasons do change and cooler weather is coming so I'll buck up and find things to get excited about. One Fall activity high on my list? Running and racing outdoors! I find the crispness of Fall ideal running weather. And, I always get pumped this time of year for fun Fall races. I like to run a 5k at the end of the summer or beginning of Fall to ease me back into running (which I often take a hiatus from when it's sweltering outside). The tour comes after President Obama announced the nation’s first-ever limits on carbon pollution, as well as infrastructure improvements to deal with the effects of climate change and new investments in clean energy. CSA veggies get super repetitive and boring this time of year, so it's time to get creative with the summer harvests. If you were to ask me my two favorite food groups, they'd be Mexican and sushi. (Although I'm not a chef, that's the most accurate answer I'd give.)
