With local universities moving online for the semester, students need to pack quickly. Here’s a few resources for recycling and donations.

The coronavirus led many local universities to abruptly close their campuses for the semester, putting the pressure on students to pack quickly and head home.

Rather than throwing everything in the trash, here are a few places to responsibly donate or recycle used goods, if you have a little time and resources to do so.

Where to recycle & donate goods for a more sustainable move-out:

• Donating old clothes? Here are a few places to drop off clothes that can be worn again.
• Need to recycle old sheets or comforters? H&M accepts textiles (including clothes, sheets, and other cloth items.)
• Need to recycle clothes too ratty to donate? Check these area recycling spots.
• Looking to recycle electronics? Here are a few potential places to check.
• Unsure where to donate food? Food Connect & Philly Food Rescue make it easy to pick up and donate to those in need.
