We have 10 days left with (somewhat) US sanity, so we may as well join our fellow citizens in messages of love and inclusion.

Here are three awesome, local events to add to your calendar.

If you love art

Conrad Benner of Streets Dept (the website about street art; not your trash and recycling) organized two noteworthy events:

1. Collective Action is a silent art auction, which aims to raise $20k for 10 local and national social justice organizations that will be on the front lines during Trump’s presidency. Proceeds from artwork will be donated to nonprofits including Planned Parenthood, Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, International Refugee Assistance Project, and the Natural Resources Defense Council. January 14th, from 6-9pm at 990 Spring Garden Street in Philadelphia, PA.
2. Signs of Solidarity, an unprecedented citywide public art protest in opposition to hate and divisiveness. On January 20th, dozens of buildings across the city of Philadelphia will drop artist-made Signs of Solidarity, large banners displaying messages of love and inclusivity to stand in opposition to hate and in protest of any and all that embolden divisiveness. The project will also drop in Atlanta because Benner is a badass.

Philadelphia Writers Resist: United for Liberty 

Is writing and hearing literature more your style?

Over 35 prominent Philadelphia authors, journalists and poets will read for hundreds of members of the literary community and concerned citizens at Philadelphia Writers Resist: United for Liberty on Sunday to protest the potential erosion of cherished American rights such as free expression in the wake of the 2016 Presidential election. National Museum of American Jewish History Dell Auditorium, 5th and Market Streets, January 15 from 2-5PM, Free and open to the public.
