Unsure how to make a change? Start giving back with some of these local orgs.
Local civically-engaged residents met over 8 local orgs that are making a difference last evening at our second annual volunteer mixer.
Last night, the new year began with purpose and passion at “Connect for Change,” the second annual volunteer mixer hosted by local sustainability advocates. The event brought together individuals from across the city for an evening of inspiration, action, and connection, reaffirming the power of community in the face of daunting climate challenges.
The night’s highlights included networking, where attendees were matched with volunteer opportunities tailored to their interests, and flash talks from local leaders offering bold ideas and actionable ways to create meaningful change. The event served as a powerful reminder that despite the challenges of the political climate and ongoing environmental crises, Philadelphians can unite to support and uplift one another.
The event featured contributions from several volunteer organizations making an impact fighting food injustices and fostering dialogue across political divides and more across the region:
- Citizen’s Climate Lobby
- Clean Water Action
- Climate Action PA
- ECHO Systems
- Friends of Penn Treaty
- PennEnvironment
- Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education
- Sharing Excess
Attendees connected with volunteer opportunities and provided organizations interested citizens to join forces to make a difference in their communities. The energy and enthusiasm from the evening will help fuel continued efforts to build a greener, more sustainable city.
