Spring is here! Philadelphia’s green community emerges from the woodwork with a nonstop calendar of awesome, local events.
Here’s two events coming up on Monday you won’t want to miss.
ParkX
ParkX will be an evening filled with innovative stories about work in parks from 9 inspiring individuals. Modeled after TedX, Each presenter shares their project’s story in 5 minutes.
Speakers include:
- Kim Alsbrooks, creator of the Handmade Map of Fairmount Park
- Andrew Emma of the TreeKeepers Program
- Nic Esposito from PowerCorps PHL
- Emma Fried-Cassorla of Philly Love Notes
- Michael Froelich and Zora of Zora Plays
- Brad Maule with One Man’s Trash
- Alex Mulcahy from Grid Magazine
- Mairtreyi Roy of Bartram’s Garden
- Jerome Shabazz of the Overbrook Environmental Education Center

Friends of MilkCrate Philly Party
MilkCrate Philly, a ‘green search’ smartphone app debuting this fall, hosts a party on Monday, May 12th at City Coho/Philly Nexus.
Philadelphia University graduate student Morgan Berman and her team will showcase the app features and share users can support the local economy. Sip local libations, chow on some snacks and hear how you can get involved at this free event.
