Spotted lanternflies hurt Pennsylvania’s wine industry. Pennsylvania’s wine industry produces over $7 billion for the U.S. economy, but is under threat from a small creature. Spotted lanternflies are an invasive species that are ransacking much of the Northeastern United States and can be found in droves throughout Philadelphia. Experts encourage individuals to be on the lookout and prevent the spread of the insect. The Conversation
