Keep Philadelphia Beautiful collected 7,000 pounds of trash in 2015
Keep Philadelphia came out with its annual 2015 report, citing 7000 pounds of trash collected (with 250 volunteers & 21 partner organizations).
They helped students understand recycling & composting with 40 presentations reaching over 2100 elementary, middle and high school students.
Director Michelle Feldman has the totals: “With the help of hundreds of volunteers, we cleared our streets and public spaces of more than 7,000 pounds of debris, educated over 2,000 Philadelphians of all age about sustainable waste disposal, raised and dispersed $13,000 for community beautification initiatives, and continued to develop our toolbox of resources for neighborhood based organizations.”
Even though we still remain wary of their parent org Keep America Beautiful, Michelle Feldman has led our local chapter to helping students, communities and more.
