Philadelphia CSA Choices: Part II (& more Local, Sustainable Farmers)

We gave you a few CSA choices in Philadelphia last week. Here’s a few more for you to mull over:
- Crawford Organic CSA (East Earl, PA – Lancaster County) delivers to Center City Philadelphia on Tuesdays from 2-8 PM @ 119 S 21st Street. (Their website shows their family on a tractor!)
- FirstWatch Farms (Lancaster County) has a CSA with a 22-week share from May – October. Their pickups include Wednesdays in Wayne PA, and in Lancaster on Fridays and Saturdays. The application is right on the Farm To City website.
- Neighborhood Foods is a joint venture between The Enterprise Center Community Development Corporation and Urban Tree Connection, both non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations and focuses on fresh food access & local youth employment in west Philadelphia neighborhoods. Their CSA pickups are on Fridays in 46th & Market and Narberth; and Saturdays in West Philly and Rittenhouse.
- Lancaster Farm Fresh has a 25 week CSA with weekly newsletters, recipe suggestions, cooking demos and more. They also have a TON of pickup sites on Mondays, Wednesdays & Thursdays across Philly & the ‘burbs. (Check out the Farm to City application link for the full list.)
- Red Earth Farm is a Schuylkill County PA dedicated to chemical-free produce. This CSA’s website allows you to choose your produce weekly, and has a variety of pickups on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays
- Sankanac CSA (Camphill Village Kimberton Hills, Kimberton PA) has available shares for the upcoming season. Their 15-acre garden in Chester County is organically and biodynamically grown and is part of an intentional life-sharing community that includes adults with developmental disabilities.
