Eagles’s Lincoln Financial to be #1 Green Stadium in WORLD!

Apparently, the Eagles are leaving no stone un-turned. After a kick-ass performance by Vick & 59-28 victory on Monday night and as we reported yesterday, PETA naming the Linc as #1 most vegetarian-friendly NFL stadium, the Eagles announced their plans to becoming the greenest stadium in the World. Talk about a few week's accomplishments. By next opening day next September, the Linc will have 2500 solar panels on the roof & facade, 100 spiral sharped wind turbines and a cogenerational power plant to run biodiesel or natural gas to fully power any game, lights, sound & crowd roars. Over the next 2 decades, the Eagles can save $60 million in energy costs. The Linc can compete for the (read more, after the jump)

Local Green Store Buzz: New Locations of Favs

Exciting update: 2 of our favorite green stores have opened 2nd locations! Big Green Earth Store opened downtown on November 1st at the Shops at Liberty Place between Godiva Chocolatier and ALDO, accessible through 17th OR Market St entrances. Starting Dec 1st, they'll have holiday hours - 9 AM - 9 PM at South Street & 9:30 AM - 8 PM @ Our Shops at Liberty Place through December 24th. Arcadia Boutique expanded to a 2nd Rittenhouse Boutique at 265 S. 20th St, right by 20th & Spruce. Their Grand Opening Reception is this Fri, November 19th from 5-9 PM, complete with cocktails, snacks & sales!

They're dedicated funding & support to the Hunting Park revitalization effort. Philadelphia Parks & Recreation & Fairmount Park Conservancy recently broke ground on the Hunting Park baseball field to kick off the field’s $500,000 renovation project. Moore Alum Shows at Fashion Week NYC GreenShows

Those students at Moore College of Art & Design continue their eco-friendly strides through artwork & fashions. Fashion design graduate Auralis Herrero was the 1st Latina designer to present a collection at New York Fashion Week’s eco-friendly runway, the GreenShows. (Not to be outdone by the big apple - Luckily Philadelphia kicked off their Fashion Week last week with Earthly Beauties.) Herrero was 1 of 10 eco-friendly designers that showed her collection of sustainable fashions event at the Metropolitan Pavilion in Chelsea committed to ethically sound, sustainable fashion. Her collection introduced an “Urban Tropical” look, inspired by Salsa musicians and artists from her roots in Puerto Rico. Move over New York! Philadelphia Fashion Week kicks off tomorrow with an Local & Eco-themed night. This year's show features 29 designers from 9 countries and other theme nights include Student night (Thurs), Streetwear (Fri), and Contemporary Couture (Sat). In addition to seeing awesome fashions, you can also expect live music, DJs & dance performances. Philadelphia Fashion Week is making another eco-first: CMK Entertainment created the 1st mobile application (PhlFshnWk) for a major, national fashion event. Stay tuned about designer times down the runway, designer bios, artists’ performances & sponsoring boutiques with your iPhone, iPad or iTouch! This environmentally-conscious & user-friendly app for Philadelphia Fashion Week App can be found here on iTunes.
