Happy Monday! Despite the dreary weather, brighten your week with fun Philly events, including chocolate exhibitions, design showcases, and craft shows. Here's Philly events for the week of October 13-16th:

Happy Friday! This week, we learned from Next City that New York has a StreetsPAC for more pedestrian & biking friendly cities. Perhaps Philly can follow suite? Thanks to Be Well Philly for confirming our Runner's High and Hidden City Philadelphia for taking us to an underground 4-million gallon sewage & storage tank. And obviously, Generocity's piece about chickens from Nic Esposito made us rethink our compost bins (but not really...) Find out what to do over the weekend, after the jump!

It's official: The PA Conference for Women is sold out. If you're lucky enough to have snagged a ticket, get psyched for a lineup of power women including Jill Abramson, Diane Keaton, and Robin Roberts. This day-long conference based in our city has loads of programming about career development, personal finance, entrepreneurship, social media and way more. Plus, what's better than being inspired for a day and reengage in the community?

Hope this crisp weather has you falling for the new season! Did you get out to see the new Schuylkill Boardwalk? We're psyched to run on over and give it a go but any way to get outdoors for a little adventure seems ideal for this weekend! This weekend, head over to the race in Fishtown or to the Schuylkill for a wild adventure. Whether with friends, family, or quality alone time, get out and take advantage of all that Philly has to offer! Weekend Events for October 3-5, 2014:

It's time to get to BEEEEsness, EPA! 60 House of Representative members sent a letter to the EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy to protect pollinators (AKA bees) from the impact of neonicotinoid pesticides. Local Representatives Chakah Fattah (PA-02) and Allyson Schwartz (PA-13) both signed the letter, for those of you keeping tabs on who's defending our local sustainability.
