As we celebrate 15 years of championing sustainability, Green Philly proudly presents our 2023 in Review. This year, we expanded our team by welcoming two talented members, fueling our growth and commitment to a greener future. Join us for a quick tour of our highlights, challenges, and triumphs, as we continue to inspire sustainable living.
Green Philly’s 2023 highlights:
- We hosted our 6th annual SustainPHL recognizing 27 nominees and 9 recipients at the Academy of Natural Sciences in October.
- Green Philly celebrated 15 years at Laurel Hill with over 100 of our readers and partners, despite a climate-change-induced delay. We also received a Mayoral Document recognizing our journey in addressing climate change and highlighting local changemakers since 2008.
- Green Philly hosted a panel on consumer energy choices.
- We toured Laurel Hill West’s Aquamation Center and hosted a conversation about local stormwater infrastructure.
- We were chosen for and completed a LION sustainability audit.
- The William Penn Foundation awarded Green Philly a $110,000 watershed protection grant for 24 months.
- Green Philly was awarded a Comcast Rise grant in August.
- Melvin Powell and Lauren Belcher joined the Green Philly team.
Over the past 15 years, we’ve connected people to sustainable solutions and convened the local sustainability community. We’ll continue to work on our mission in 2024, with exciting new launches and a year-long theme. Join our mailing list to be the first to know about these exciting plans!
