Healthy and Delicious Valentine’s Day Smoothie
Ah, Valentine’s Day. It’s the holiday many people love to hate or is it hate to love… hmmm…
Here’s the good news: no matter what you have going on in your romantic life this holiday- this is a smoothie you’re bound to love.
Inspired by the Rosie’s Romance super-food smoothie from NYC’s The Juice Press, this is a delicious blend with a pretty, valentine’s appropriate hue.
Ingredients (serves 2, but can easily half recipe)
- 2 bananas
- 1 1/4 cup organic frozen strawberries
- 1 1/4 cup organic frozen raspberries (optional)
- 1-2 tbsp almond butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup unsweetened almond or soy milk
- 1 -2 tbsp or scoop protein powder (optional – I often go without)
- Few handfuls of ice
- Make it sweeter: add 1 tsp agave
- Fancy it up: garnish with strawberry or fresh mint sprig
Blend ingredients in a blender, food processor or vita-mix, and serve immediately or save half in the fridge. Serve with a straw or two. Enjoy!
This tastes so decadent you’ll forget it’s reasonably healthy. (I may even get away with serving it to my husband as Valentine’s dessert. )
And, if you use vegan protien powder then it’s certifiably vegan and animal-product free.

Happy Valentine’s all!
