Green Your Halloween!
Halloween is around the corner… It’s the one time of the year you should pretend someone whom you’re not! But don’t give up your green habits in the meantime.
Here’s some ways to Green Your Halloween, whether you’re dressing up, dressing up the kids or giving out treats:
- Staying at home? Rather than giving out corn-syrup filled crap, distribute organic or vegan treats to the trick-or-treaters.
- Reuse or recycle your halloween attire: Find a friend with a similar size as you, and try trading previous Halloween costumes. Or, be creative with your wardrobe to mix & match clothes to come up with something new! Be Greek with a cotton bedsheet toga or use leggings and crop an oversized t-shirt to flashback to the 80s!
- Lessen your carbon impact: Carpool to scary functions, use evites instead of paper invitations
- Go local: Choose local, organic pumpkins!
- Give kids reusable grocery bags or pillowcases for trick-or-treating instead of plastic bags or buckets
Readers, how are you greening your halloween?
