Revolution Recovery: Philly’s Professional Dumpster Divers

Ever wonder what happens in Revolution Recovery? Our guest writer Kelly Altrichter recently toured the facility and shared her experience so we could experience it firsthand. What is Revolution Recovery? Revolution Recovery was born when Avi Golen and Jon Wybar had the idea to divert construction material straight out of the landfill in 2004.  Although they dug through construction waste to determine an outlet for all the various materials, Revolution Recovery has grown to two locations and 80 employees. Tri-State Sustainability Symposium 2014: I’m Speaking

The 2014 Tri-State Sustainability Symposium returns to Philly on March 7. Currently in year #4, industry, university & community leaders share sustainability insight, questions and cutting edge information - relevant right in our region. The Delaware Valley Green Building Council (DVGBC) are hosting the affair, followed by a free sustainability forum with PA's gubernatorial candidates. Barnes Foundation is Super Artsy, Super LEED & Part Apple!

While complaints about the Barnes moving from Merion have mostly calmed down, the Barnes Foundation is continuing to make news! This time, their new(ish) Philly home received a great GREEN honor today: LEED Platinum. The Barnes is the 1st art & educational institution to achieve the LEED platinum status from USGBC (US Green Building Council). They also have a piece of the Big Apple (literally.) How did they accomplish such a task?
