Hope you didn't miss it: The Philly Bike Expo was this past weekend. For bike lovers, this was THE place to be. As soon as I rolled up (pun intended) to the convention center, I was psyched to take my bike indoors for the free bike valet courtesy of Fuji Bikes & Neighborhood Bike Works. No lock needed for me! Once I got to the expo floor, there were rows and rows of vendors with products from t-shirts, bike accessories, baskets, denim and much more.

Looks like the city is continuing to "Unlitter Us!" - this time with damaged bikes clogging up the racks. The Philadelphia Streets Department announced that they're removing "abandoned' bicycles throughout Center City & surrounding areas starting in early summer.  "Abandoned bikes" are classified as: (find out more, after the jump!)

Bike Philly 2011, aka YOUR chance to ride car-free on Philly Streets (ahem minus Carrie Denny's SUV...), is brought to you by the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia. You can bike car-free for 10 or 20 mile loops, or bike a 35-mile loop (which includes some shared roads.) Routes go through Philly landmarks including Chinatown, Olde City, by the Ben Franklin bridge, the Zoo and other awesome scenes. Philly Mag published a post yesterday by Carrie Denny titled “Philadelphia Cyclists Finally Get What’s Coming to ‘Em..”     *hand to forehead.* As Ms. Denny begins, “The Boyfriend says that bikers throughout the city of Philadelphia know well the hum of my 2000 Land Rover Discovery. You know what I say? I wish they did. Then maybe they’d get the hell out of the way.” Get the hell out of the way?? Oh, Carrie, it’s been brought-en.
