Where Can I (Wednesday) – Recycle Used Sneakers?
We had a reader question VIA the Twitter: Where Can I Recycle Old Sneakers in Philly?
Runners World’s peanut gallery recommends you replace your kicks an average of every 500 miles, which leads to a lot of unloved sneaks. Good news for you Broad Street & running enthusiasts: Philly has a few drop off locations for your used sneakers:
- Philadelphia Runner accepts used shoes at all 3 locations. There’s a drop off bin & no requirements (according to the nice gentleman on the phone).
- Nike’s Reuse-a-Shoe program accepts drop-offs at Philly’s Nike Factory Franklin Mills Store location (1455 Franklin Mills Cir., Sp 537A, Philadelphia, PA 19154)
- Occasionally schools & organizations hold shoe drives like the Harambe Institute did this past fall. Keep your eyes peeled (we’ll update you of any we find!)
