Top 5 Picks for Philadelphia Film Fest & Win Tickets!

The Philadelphia Environmental Film Festival is returning for the second year!

To fully prep you for this weekend’s festivities, we’re sharing a few of our fav picks to watch.

5 Films to Watch During the Philadelphia Environmental Film Fest

  1. Wasted! The Story of Food Waste will be screened on Saturday from 2:30-4:30. After the film, hear Philabundance Executive Director Glenn Bergman interview Director Anna Chai and sample “upcycled” food by Philabundance.
  2. The Local Oyster Stout. This short film is in block 3 on Saturday morning (11:30 AM), but show a collaboration between oyster farmer, shucker, and brewery on their Oyster Stout beer. As a beer (and oyster) fan, I’m intrigued.
  3. Philly Rising. What’s happening in Philly neighborhoods for the urban and environmental renaissance? The 20-minute short film focusses on leaders and building projects.
  4. Anote’s Ark. Kiribati is one of the most remote places on Earth but is facing sea-level rise. This block on Friday evening (5:30) explores how President Anote Tong is positioning climate displacement as a human rights issue in this pressing issue.
  5. Blue. Closing out the festival on Sunday night from 5:15-7:30, this film focuses on the alterations occurring in our oceans. Stay tuned for the announcement of film awards afterward.
