Readers: Join us this Sunday for a Women's Environmental Entreprenuership Philly Event

This Sunday, November 16 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM, join We are BOOST (We are Building Open Opportunity Structures Together) as they host Women Leaders for Entrepreneurship, the Environment and Social Equity.  The event is held at Greenable, a company specializing in interior and exterior green building products and services for residential and commercial projects, located at 126 Market St in Center City Philadelphia.

Julie and I are two of the seven panelists who will be commenting and answering audience questions on:
• Starting your own green business and what are the options, resources, and tools you’ll need and are readily available;
• Increasing the visibility of an existing business or green initiative using affordable and, at times, cost-free on-line platforms;
• Initiating a grassroots community or neighborhood-based green-up effort;
• Educating young people about global warming, climate change, and how it impacts them and what they can do about it.

The discussion will be co-moderated by Yvonne Haughton, founder of For My Daughter Liberty, an after-school and weekend community center for girls ages 8 through 14 focused on increasing opportunities for higher education, improving nutrition and fitness, and creating awareness and respect for the environment. Ali Shapiro of Philadelphia’s Integrative Nutritional Counseling joins Haughton as co-moderator.

We encourage you to check out what’s sure to be a lively discussion on women’s entrepreneurial efforts in developing environmental initiative locally and globally.

Ticket info: Advanced ticket registration required. Tickets donation is $15 per adult, $5 for children under 12 years of age. And $5 for college and university students with valid student I.D. Must RSVP by Thursday, November 13 via phone (206) 202-2883 or email ticket request to greenablewomen@weareboost.org.  For more info, check out BOOST’s calendar of events page.

Hope to see you there!
