What attendees learned at our inaugural EcoFair

From our sustainable marketplace to our educational discussions, attendees learned that there are many ways to support sustainability,

When it comes to sustainable steps, the opportunities are endless.

Green Philly’s first-ever EcoFair, held on April 27, was a resounding success, bringing together eco-conscious individuals, community leaders, and organizations committed to fostering a sustainable future for Philadelphia and beyond. Held at Cherry Street Pier, the event showcased a vibrant tapestry of initiatives, discussions, and interactive activities to promote environmental awareness and action.

The day kicked off with the “First Brushstrokes” of the mural created by Walls for Justice. Attendees contributed to the mural throughout the day. Our keynote was Elizabeth Lankenau, Director of Sustainability, City of Philadelphia, who emphasized the city’s work to address climate change and our collective action as a community.

Attendees were then invited to explore various exhibitor booths, each offering innovative solutions and products or nonprofits sharing solutions to reduce carbon footprints and promote eco-friendly lifestyles.

Participants engaged in thought-provoking panel discussions featuring local experts and activists throughout the day. Topics ranged from sustainable neighborhoods to sustainable fashion and waste reduction strategies. These panels educated attendees and sparked meaningful conversations about the challenges and opportunities of achieving a more sustainable city.

Looking ahead, Green Philly is excited to build on the success of the inaugural EcoFair, continuing to engage, educate, and empower individuals and communities to embrace sustainable living practices. Stay tuned for updates on upcoming events, workshops, and initiatives to create a greener, more resilient future for all.

Together, we can make a difference. Join us in our journey towards a more sustainable Philadelphia!
