Philly Weekend Events for January 9-11, 2015:
- 2015 Resolution Run: Get your resolutions in order during this 1, 3 or 5 mile run. Saturday, January 10th @ 8 AM, Bryn Mawr Running Company, (828 West Lancaster Avenue), $10, Registration.
- Edible Gardens & Delicious Weeds: Forager Tama Matsuoka Wong will give tips for planning a wild garden in your backyard, what plants (especially weeds) you might expect to emerge first and fine native species to plant as spring comes, and bring treats from her winter foraging, with recipes. - Intro to Wood Working: Learn the basics of layouts, markings & measurings with this course. Sat. Jan. 10. 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. $59. University City Science Center, 3711 Market St. Register.
- Winter Fit Hikes: Get into out of the city and into the Wissahickon Park with this 4 mile, moderate to fast pace hike through a variety of trails. Dog & kid friendly – just wear approp shoes. Jan. 11. 9 AM, Free. Valley Green Inn, Valley Green Rd. www.fow.org
