Happy Presidents’ Day! Cheers to a new week after a weekend of polar vortex-ish temps.

Regardless whether you get to enjoy this cold day off or are stuck in the office, we have ways to get you through the next week:

Week Events February 15 – 18, 2016:

  • Women Bike PHL Goes to NBW Bike Church! An informal open house to deepen the connections between the Women Bike PHL community and the wonderful resources Neighborhood Bike Works provides. Get a tour, enjoy light snacks, BYO drinks & full access to the Bike Church shop area where adults (ages 18+) can fix & build bikes, etc.  Wednesday, February 17th from 6:30 to 9 PM; 3939 Lancaster Ave, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19104, more info.
    BIG IDEAS: INVENTION, ENVIRONMENT, AND YOU: Hear experts talk & debate big ideas for the evening, like what inventions were worth their cost to the environment? Question your beliefs about how our inventions impact the environment, or how something widely considered to have a negative impact on the environment could actually have been beneficial. Feb 18 @ 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM; $10; Bourbon & Branch,705 N 2nd St, Philadelphia.   • Art Activism: Animating Antiracism Advocacy: Spiral Q uses creativity to build just and joyful communities. Come learn how the cause of racial justice can be pursued through art and storytelling. Wednesday at 6 PM; 55 N Broad St, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19107, more info. 
  • Women Bike PHL – Coffee Club: Each Wednesday, Women Bike PHL meet at a different coffee shop in Philadelphia for Coffee Club — an informal gathering where Philly’s women bicyclists can share tips, rant, support, celebrate, and, most importantly….CAFFEINATE together. Wednesday at 8 AM;Reed’s Coffee & Tea House, 3802 Lancaster Ave, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19104; more info. 

Weekend Events February 19 – 21, 2016:

  • Rad Girls in Tech Meetup: Organizers Leah and Alisha will provide fun ‘prompt cards’ to make introductions and further purposeful networking.   • Walk the piers of the Delaware: Visit and learn about the unseen urban ecology of three piers along the Delaware including the new Fishing Pier, Washington Avenue Pier, and an undeveloped wild pier or two.   • Coffee at Miss Rachel’s Pantry: Join fellow vegans & vegan friends to enjoy coffee, pastry & other foods at the Market at Miss Rachel’s Pantry. Saturday, February 20th at 10:30 AM; 1938 S Chadwick St., Philadelphia , PA, More info.
