Introducing Our New Roundtable Series
Guess what. We’re kicking off a new roundtable series!
First, here’s why.
About Conversations to Build an Inclusive Philadelphia
Philly’s making moves, but we’re still the poorest big US city. How can we create opportunities as we pave the way for a sustainable future? The new Powering Our Future plan released by the Office of Sustainability aims to reduce carbon levels 80% by 2050 and generate new clean energy jobs. How can Philadelphia meet deadlines and spur economic growth for all citizens?
Conversations to Build an Inclusive Future is a series to bring together those who are leading the way to a more sustainable future. These roundtables will bring together local leaders to share best practices and encourage dialogue with attendees. Our goal is to build stronger organizations, businesses and community groups.
The First Event
Join us for the inaugural event, Innovative Leaders Driving a Green & Equal Philly, on February 22nd at Saxbys Headquarters.
What sets apart the organizations that thrive and can barely survive? Leadership matters! Hear how these social entrepreneurs are building effective organizations that drive change in a time of significant disruption.
This roundtable discussion will address how to build a strong organization and develop a pipeline of future, diverse leaders. Our panelists will provide strategies that have helped strengthen their organizations and reach outside their immediate circles to affect change. These tools will apply how to build strong organizations across sectors, whether in a business, organization or community group.
Hear from panelists Christine Knapp, Philadelphia Office of Sustainability; Jamie Gauthier, Fairmount Park Conservancy; Omar Woodard, GreenLight Fund and Naida Elena Burgos, Temple University School of Medicine. I’ll be moderating (and co-hosting) along with local advocate Saleem Chapman, who recently launched the organization True Republic.
