- Schuylkill River Trail Ride: The Pennsylvania Environmental Commission is celebrating National Trail Month with a guided bike tour along the Schuylkill River Trail. The tour showcases the area’s successful development of quality trails and features a catered lunch ($18) in Valley Forge National Historic Park. Saturday, June 14th, 10 AM, 4424 Main St. Manayunk; Tickets.
- Philadelphia VegFest: Philly’s 1st VegFest is here celebrating the area’s vegetarian food as well as the advantages of a plant-based diet. The free event, sponsored by the Humane League, will showcase vegetarian and vegan foods, as well as host cooking demos, and guest speakers. Saturday, June 14th, 11-4 PM, Headhouse Square (2nd & Pine).
- Clay Bee Making Workshop: The Schuylkill Center is hosting a hands-on workshop to learn about local bees while creating your own clay version. Join artists in making a swarm of ceramic bees during this free environmental art and education program. Saturday June 14th, 11 AM – 1 PM, 8480 Hagy’s Mill Rd. RSVP.
- Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event: The State Department’s Sanitation Division is sponsoring a citywide opportunity for citizens to recycle and otherwise dispose of Household Hazardous Waste. Philadelphia Recycling Rewards participants can receive 25 extra Recyclebank® Points for taking part in this event. Saturday June 14th, 9 AM – 3 PM, Streets Dept’s Northwest Transfer Station (Domino Lane & Umbria St).
- Father’s Day Dinner at Pumpkin BYOB: Searching for last-minute plans for Dad? Treat him to a seasonal 5-Course Dinner featuring local and fresh ingredients. Sunday June 15th, 5:30-10 PM, $40 per person, 1713 South Street.
