As summer continues to truck on (whether we want to hit pause or not), Philly keeps bringing the best events to us. Here’s a few events to check out:
Week Events August 3 – 6, 2015:
- FPC Members Tour of East Park Reservoir: Go behind the scenes of the incredible East Park Reservoir in Fairmount Park which has become a significant resting area for migratory birds making their way south down the eastern seaboard. - Cadence Youth Cycling Community Bike-In Movie: Premium Rush: Cadence Youth Cycling is hosting a community bike in movie! It will be on top of Whole Foods Market parking lot. This is a FREE event but donations will be accepted to support Cadence Youth Cycling. Wednesday, August 5th @ 8 PM; Whole Foods South St (929 South St); Facebook RSVP.
- Night Market Lancaster Avenue: Join our awesome new partners the Food Trust for the best event in town! From brand-new vendors to roving street performers and a killer slate of musical guests, your favorite roving street food festival is back in West Philly and better than ever. - The Mayor’s Cup: Join as a runner associated with a Running Club that meets
within the borders of Philadelphia, has running as a primary purpose, and exists beyond Mayor’s Cup competition. Saturday, August 8at 7:30am; Belmont Plateau; 2000 Belmont Mansion Dr, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19131; More info/ Register. - Sculpture Zoo in Rittenhouse Square: The Association for Public Art (aPA) with support from Apartment Investment and Management Company (Aimco) and in partnership with Philadelphia Parks and Recreation presents Sculpture Zoo in Rittenhouse Square, a FREE family-friendly event of fun-filled activities that enliven the Square’s public art. - Invasive and Native Plant Safari with Michael Kopena: Exotic alien plants are invading local ecosystems and local native species struggle to stand their ground!
