SBN announces winners in Green Stormwater during its 6th annual awards
The evening honored Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GSI) leaders, partners, and stakeholders
The Sustainable Business Network of Greater Philadelphia (SBN) hosted its annual Excellence in GSI Awards on Thursday night at FringeArts and La Peg.
MC of the evening was GSI Partners Manager Alex Cupo, who works to advance the region’s green stormwater infrastructure industry and policies.
The evening kicked off with remarks by Devi Ramkissoon, Executive Director of SBN. She discussed how GSI has played a part in the world around her since childhood and will continue to be instrumental in the fight against climate change.
The evening’s keynote speaker was Stuart Clarke, Program Director of Watershed Protection, William Penn Foundation.
“Our local waterways are important, and we must do everything possible to protect and preserve
them. We know that green stormwater infrastructure can combat the effects of climate change –
and your work, your projects make doing so possible.,” said Clarke.
The awards were created by SBN Business member Remark Glass. Co-Founder Rebecca Davies created the teardrop awards from a tabletop she found on her way to work and created the base from studio ‘waste glass.’
