The 2024 Community Resilience and Environmental Justice Fund is accepting applications. It will offer $15,000 grants to 20 organizations in Philadelphia working on long-term environmental justice initiatives. Eligible organizations must be located in Philadelphia, led by those most affected by environmental issues, and focused on building coalitions, community organizing, and capacity building. Applications are open until October 4th, 2024.

SEPTA is making it easier to take public transit! Starting September 8th, the regional rail service will increase service to over 80% of pre-pandemic levels, adding 99 weekend trains and 24 weekday trains to the schedule.

Nearly one-third of Montgomery County’s communities have committed to a clean energy future. Lower Providence Township became the 19th municipality to pledge a transition to 100% renewable energy for electricity by 2035 and by 2050 for all sectors. This effort, part of the Ready for 100 initiative, aims to reduce emissions and modernize infrastructure, supported by recent federal incentives for clean energy investments.
