ED Alex Dews moving on from Green Building United
Katie Bartolotta, Director of Policy and Programs will become Interim Executive Director
After six years in his role as Executive Director of Green Building United, Alex Dews announced he is leaving the position. Dews has accepted a role at the Institute for Market Transformation (IMT), a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit organization.
According to Dews, he’ll continue to live in the city and his role may involve local efforts.
“IMT’s focus is to support local sustainability, particularly building efficiency and decarbonization work around the country. I and many other folks in Philly have worked with their team for many years on different successful efforts in Philly,” said Dews.
Although Dews will be taking on work on the national level, he’ll still miss the previous role.
“It’s definitely bittersweet and I will miss the work for sure that focuses in Philly,” said Dews. I’m also really excited about the chance to be continuing to do this work in a lot of places around the country.
Previously, Dews worked in real estate development and as the Policy and Program Manager in the city’s Office of Sustainability.
