#ThisWeekI: Humane League Edition

Happy Monday! Today’s #ThisWeekI guest(s) couldn’t decide who wanted to participate the most, so we instead focus on their local nonprofit as a whole instead.

The Humane League is a farm animal welfare organization that advocates for reducing meat consumption for the benefits to individual health, the animals, and the environment.

About the Humane League

Humane League Philadelphia
Volunteer & Intern lunch with the Humane League

Name(s)/Organization:  Rachel Atcheson, Philadelphia Director; Jenn Peck, Director of Operations; and Eliana Zimet, intern.
Fav Philly Neighborhood: Center City
Fav Meatless Food Dish: HipCityVeg‘s Crispy HipCity Ranch

What is the Humane League most proud of this year?: The success of our Meatless Monday campaigns in Philadelphia, Boston, in Baltimore, and opening up 4 offices in 2014 alone!

So what did the Humane League do to inspire change this week?

#ThisWeekI – Humane League Edition:

  • We participated in Meatless Monday, our fav.
  • kept the lights off in the office and relied on natural light instead.
  • Distributed online versions of our literature, including Vegetarian/Vegan Starter Kits, instead of hard copies.

Readers, what have you done this week? What are your goals?
