How Y’all Shared #ItsAlwaysGreenInPhilly

Happy Earth Day!

(Technically yesterday was the “official” Earth Day. But really, every day is earth day!)

We celebrated this past week by recognizing simple steps you can take to leave a smaller footprint. We were psyched to see everyone using the hashtag and sharing their easy tips. Here are a few of our favs.

Amberella unveiled a new GROW Goth Heart and shared how she’s going to make an effort to BYO water bottle traveling.

????GROW???? • This Power Heart, dedicated to #PersonalGrowth, is the perfect match for the #ItsAlwaysGreenInPhilly Earth Day Campaign ? ? @GreenPhillyBlog is sharing ways that we can make tiny changes for a big impact, so check out their page for some ideas ?? • My goal for ? Day this year is to purchase a self filtering water bottle specifically with travel in mind. A bottle of water is the first thing that I buy at every airport… time to change that! ?? • WHAT IS A SUSTAINABLE CHANGE THAT YOU’D LIKE TO MAKE? • Thanks so much to @urbancreators for showing me around your incredible farm and letting me leave my heart with you. ? I felt so much peace, love, and joy there… y’all are so special. • Urban Creators is an urban farm nonprofit located in North Philly dedicated to revitalizing neighborhoods through food, art, and celebration. ?? • #PowerHearts #pasteup #streetart #phillystreetart #growth #GROW #personalgrowth #earthday #4/22 #sustainability #change #action #urbanfarm #lifedogrow #community #love #joy • ? of me: @the_brittjames

The Philadelphia Zoo shared their 87 geothermal wells for temperatures.

We also love the zoo’s creative graphics to illustrate their sustainable strides.

Delaware River Waterfront encourages you to get outdoors and enjoy the riverfront parkspace.

Green Eggs doesn’t provide straws unless they’re requested, which is a great move since Americans use 500 MILLION every day.

Sole Active Apparel offers Teeki, a legging brand made from recycled water bottles.

We love the quote and style of this reusable water bottle!

A special thanks to our friends at Honeygrow to sending gift cards to a few of our lucky readers who participated and used the hashtag over the past week! They source locally and support sustainably sourced ingredients, making delicious meals for you.

Ditch plastic bottles and wash your hair with a bar instead, thanks to a tip from Temple Sustainability.
