Think The Moth, but with a mission. On Tuesday, June 10 at 6 PM, the city’s most passionate changemakers will take the mic at MISSION Story Slam, a high-energy, heartwarming storytelling competition designed to amplify the voices of those making a difference. Hosted by PWPVideo at National Mechanics in Old City, the 12th edition of the biannual event is themed “The Time is Now”—and it promises stories that are bold, honest, and deeply human. In just five minutes each, nonprofit leaders, activists, and local heroes—including First Person Arts Executive Director, Jamie Brunson—will share true personal stories about overcoming obstacles and standing up for what matters.
But this isn’t just about storytelling:
- A panel of judges awards a $250 donation to the night’s top storyteller’s favorite nonprofit.
- The audience picks the Crowd Favorite, who earns a $100 donation for a nonprofit of their choice.
More than just a mic and a spotlight, MISSION Story Slam is a platform to be seen, heard, and celebrated. All stories are professionally recorded by PWPvideo and shared online to help storytellers extend their message far beyond the room.
