As part of DesignPhiladelphia, Carpenters’ Hall will host the opening reception for a temporary exhibit on Friday, October 3, 5–7 p.m. The exhibit features panels highlighting current historic preservation projects across Greater Philadelphia that place accessibility at the center of their design. Light refreshments will be served.
The panels will remain on view at Carpenters’ Hall, free of charge, on Saturday, October 4, and Sunday, October 5, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Projects represented are at various stages of development and demonstrate how accessibility can extend beyond ADA compliance—embracing universal, human-centered design while respecting historic preservation and interpretive standards.
This program is presented in conjunction with the Carpenters’ Company of the City and County of Philadelphia’s 2025 Master Builders’ Dialogues, “Towards a More Perfect Union: Accessibility and Preservation,” taking place at Arch Street Meeting House on Thursday, October 23, 2025.
