House of Worship + Solar

More and more houses of worship have “gone solar,” including four in the Southeast PA Lutheran synod. In this presentation you will learn what makes a building (or field) a good candidate, the process of going solar, and how to pay for this investment, including a zero-down option.  The Inflation Reduction Act has been integral in the 300% increase in solar installed on houses of worship in PA.  The Inflation Reduction Act extended the 30% federal tax credit for solar to nonprofits through Direct Pay and offers some additional 10% adders. Noel Smyth and Joy Baxter who led solar projects in their congregations will present as well as case study by members from St. Peter’s Lutheran.
