Field to Flight Nest Box Workshop

This free community event begins with a short presentation on kestrels: their rapid decline, their role in our local ecosystems, and how properly designed nest boxes are helping restore breeding populations across our region. Light refreshments will be available during the talk.

Participants will then take a guided walk to view active nest box locations and learn how habitat selection, placement, and long-term monitoring all contribute to kestrel success in the wild.

We’ll wrap up with a hands-on building session, where attendees will help assemble kestrel nest boxes that will be installed locally as part of our ongoing conservation work.

Want to take a kestrel box home?
Participants will have the option to build and purchase their own kestrel nest box to install on their property, supporting both backyard habitat and Field to Flight’s mission.

Whether you’re a birder, land steward, or simply curious about wildlife conservation, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to directly contribute to kestrel recovery efforts.
