The Awaken Your Dreams Poetry and Art Show is back for its third and best year yet! Kicking off with an opening reception on May 18th at 4:00PM-7:00PM, this year’s show will showcase artwork and poetry created by K-12 students and Teaching Artists throughout the school year, centered on the theme of healing.
Join us at The Galleries at Moore College of Art and Design, a vibrant gallery in Logan Square, to support our students’ creativity while delighting in their artistic works. Not only will attendees be able to eat, mingle, and connect with each other in a healing-centered space, but they will also experience live performances by students and feature poet and mental health advocate, LindoYes.
The exhibit will run from May 18 to May 27 to honor the tremendous work students and Teaching Artists created over the school year. Throughout the week, there will also be a poetry workshop, led by Enoch the Poet, and a Black Hippie Art Sketch Club offered in the space.
ArtWell works in partnership with schools and other organizations to support youth through multidisciplinary arts expression and education. ArtWell students utilize visual art and poetry as tools to express themselves, process emotions and experiences, and cultivate their voices.
With the support of our sponsors, Penn Treaty Special Services District and Blick Art Materials, this year’s show is sure to captivate attendees. Participating organizations include Kensington Creative and Performing Arts High School, John H. Taggart School, Parkway Northwest High School for Peace and Social Justice, Morton Elementary, Baldi Middle School, KIPP Dubois Collegiate Academy, Kensington Health Sciences Academy, Eleanor C. Emlen Elementary School, CB Community School, and Horizons Cristo-Rey.
