The Brewer’s Plate Returns to Philly on March 9th

The locavore & beer lover's favorite feel-good event of the year returns on March 9, 2014. The Brewer's Plate Philly has changed locales to the Kimmel Center of Performing Arts, but is guaranteed to be amazing as always. The 10th annual Brewer's Plate's smörgåsbord of food & beer pairings brings some of Philly's best chefs, farmers, brewers, distillers and more together to celebrate. Presented by Fair Food and Rolling Barrel Events, the culinary adventure promotes buying local and fresh, building momentum of the locavore movement. Plus, Fair Food promotes a humane, sustainable food system for the region, inspiring partnerships of local providers and your favorite eateries. What's not to love?!? Net Zero Water in Philly – Forum Nov 19th

This guest post comes from Jesce Walz, a Living Building Challenge Ambassador. With Greenbuild in Philadelphia this week, the Living Building Challenge and Net Zero Water Forum discuss stormwater management in our buildings. The Living Building Challenge is “the most most rigorous design and construction standard in the world today. It is also a philosophy, advocacy platform and certification tool.” Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 19th is a Net Zero Water Forum. The Net Zero Water Forum is a 4-hour in-depth review of the Living Building Challenge’s “Water Petal,” which is intended to redefine our relationship to water and 'waste' in the built environment. Villanova Students: Get Ready for the L.L.Bean Bootmobile on 11/8!

Hey Villanova Students - the L.L.Bean's Bootmobile is coming to your campus tomorrow, encouraging you to get outside in between classes, parties and the bar. The last time we saw the L.L.Bean Bootmobile was with the Outdoor Discovery Schools while we kayaked & SUP'd. L.L.Bean’s 2013 Wintervention College Tour is visiting the Villanova campus Friday, 11/8. It's one of the 15 stops at colleges throughout the Northeast to help remind students to get active and outside, no matter what the temperatures are. The next stop for the Bootmobile is on Saturday November 9th at Lehigh University from 11 AM - 2 PM by the Stadium Entrance.
