Support a Clean, Local Energy Hub: Choose PA Wind in 2015

There’s a lot of buzz right now about Philly’s “potential” as an energy hub for natural gas and a new pipeline, bringing jobs and money to the city. However, there’s a ton of dangers, too: leaks, air pollution and overall Philly residents’ health.

Yet Philadelphia doesn’t have to be an energy hub for natural gas and fossil fuels to be a powerhouse – we have the potential to be a clean energy hub right here.

There are many wind and solar solutions locally, producing clean energy for residents, schools and businesses. Pennsylvania currently has 24 operating wind farms, with the potential to power 330,000 homes each year.

Plus, PA wind energy generates between 3000-4000 new jobs. If we increased our wind energy by 1/3, we’d kickstart $1.2 billion to PA’s economy.

How could you not jump on this clean energy train?

It’s easy to get started.

HOW CAN YOU SIGN UP?

How can you choose local energy in 2015?

It’s simple:  Enroll today by visiting ChoosePAWind’s website by the end of January 2015. You’ll see the selection of providers, plans and get started on clean energy.

Have questions? Send them to Tim Emmett-Rardin at choosepawind@deeper-green.com.

Bonus: Switch to Clean Energy & Your Organization Can Receive Donations

ChoosePAWind & the American Lung Association of the Mid-Atlantic have partnered to launch a new campaign to encourage local wind energy to improve air quality and respiratory health.

Organizations from religious group to neighborhoods and businesses can encourage members to switch to Pennsylvania wind energy, and ChoosePAWind will donate to each group based on the number of new enrollments received.

Switching doesn’t have to cost more money – Choose from fixed of variable rates options. Local energy suppliers The Energy Coop, Community Energy, and WGES offer monthly or yearly plans, based on your level of commitment.
