Schick’s “Eco” Razor – Most Sustainable Oxy-Moron?

Schick's eco razor is marketed as most sustainable disposable razor OK, so I came across this article the other day: Schick’s eco razor is coined (by Schick) ‘the most sustainably produced disposable razor and associated packaging.”

While the way it’s produced is “green (handle is 100% recycle plastic, package composed of 100% post-consumer paper)… IT’S STILL DISPOSABLE!  Meaning, after someone’s finished using the product 4-5 times… guess where it goes. That’s right, the trash. And a landfill. And it won’t break down easily.

As I commend companies taking steps in the right direction, shouldn’t Schick focus on sustainable non-disposable razors? Nice try Schick: This definitely isn’t the first greenwashing ploy, and it won’t be the last…
