Philadelphia has been in the global spotlight in 2026, from welcoming visitors from around the world for the World Cup and other major events. At SustainPHL, we’re turning that spotlight on the people making a difference right here at home.
The 9th annual SustainPHL returns on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at a new home: the German Society of Pennsylvania. Tickets are live here.
This year feels like the perfect time to take “think global, act local” to heart. The challenges we face may be global, but change happens locally: in our neighborhoods, businesses, nonprofits and communities. SustainPHL celebrates the people who are rolling up their sleeves, trying new ideas and building a greener, healthier and more resilient Philadelphia.
And we want you there to celebrate with us.
Known as Philly’s “Green Oscars,” SustainPHL is more than an awards ceremony. It’s one of our favorite nights of the year: a chance to get dressed up, grab a drink, meet people doing incredible work across the region and leave feeling a little more hopeful about what’s possible.
Come for the cocktails, dinner and awards. Stay for the conversations, new connections and the reminder that there are a lot of people working toward a better future for Philadelphia. Let’s celebrate them.

SustainPHL is Philadelphia’s annual sustainability awards and celebration, hosted each fall by Green Philly.
Since its launch in 2016, SustainPHL has brought together Philadelphia’s sustainability community to recognize the people and organizations making a difference across the region. More than 270 changemakers have been honored through SustainPHL over the years.

The event helps raise awareness of local sustainability efforts, celebrates our community’s achievements and, most importantly, brings together people working toward a greener, healthier and more resilient Philadelphia.
SustainPHL is also an important fundraiser for Green Philly’s independent local journalism and year-round programming, helping us continue telling local environmental stories and connecting Philadelphians with solutions.
We work to make SustainPHL itself reflect the values we celebrate.
Over the years, that has included recycling and composting, encouraging sustainable transportation, working with local partners and vendors, and creating awards from reclaimed materials.
