Where To Donate Prom Dresses Locally

Prom season is approaching, and teens are scrambling to find the perfect date and perfect dress for that special night.

One of our readers asked:

Do you know of any organizations that are collecting prom dresses in the Philadelphia area?

Prom is a night that many students dream of attending during their junior or senior year, but it can be a financial burden for some, especially for only one night.

If you have a prom dress you have been meaning to part with to help another student, here are some places you can donate your dress.

WHERE TO DONATE PROM DRESSES

Because prom is a seasonal event, most drives are only at a certain time throughout the year. Please be mindful of dates, and check with the organizations if you have questions.

Police Athletic League

PAL will be hosting an event giving away prom dresses on March 12th at Cozen PAL at 732 N. 17th Street from 4:30pm to 7:30pm. The deadline to donate is Friday, March 8th. They are also accepting shoes, handbags, and other accessories.

Donations can be delivered to these three locations.

  • Cardinal O’Hara High School – 1701 S. Sproul Road, Springfield, PA 19064
    • Contact: Mrs. Linda Wert 610-544-3800 x1821
  • PAL HQ – 3068 Belgrade Street, Philadelphia, PA 19134
    • Contact: Nadirah D. McCauley 215-291-9000 x195
  • Cozen O’Connor – One Liberty Place, 1650 Market Street, Suite 2800, Philadelphia, PA
    • Contact: Nancy Rounbehler 215-665-2021

After the March 12th event, donations can still be dropped at the PAL Headquarters and Cozen O’Connor.
