Where Can I Recycle Old Cosmetics?

It’s everyone’s favorite time of the year, spring cleaning!

If you’re in the same boat as me, you’ve probably found yourself with piles of odd items that haven’t been used in quite a bit, including old personal care and beauty products.

Before you dump those old tubes, tubes and other small containers in the trash, check out these ways your can reuse and recycle your old cosmetics!

Where to reuse & recycle old cosmetics

Terracycle- Terracycle has partnered with Garnier to create a free, personal care and beauty product brigade. Learn how you can not only help the environment, but also use this brigade as a fundraising opportunity!

Back to M.A.C– Are you a M.A.C Cosmetics user? You’re in luck. M.A.C accepts returns of their products through their Back to M.A.C Program. If you return 6 primary packaging container via store or online, you’ll be rewarded with a M.A.C lipstick of your choosing; what’s not to love about this program?

Recycle and Be Rewarded– Similar to M.A.C, Kiehl’s will also reward you for doing good. Bring back your empty bottles to a  local Kiehl’s store and you can begin receiving stamps towards a new lip balm, travel collection product and more!

Gimmie 5– Burt’s Bees has partnered with Preserve’s Gimmie 5 program to encourage recycling their lip balms. Avid Burt’s Bees users (like myself) can visit participating Whole Foods Store or a local Gimme 5 location to start recycling.
