Trading up? Sell back your gently used IKEA furniture in exchange for store credit

Ikea announced their pilot Buy Back & Resell service runs through September 19, 2021 at the Conshocken location.

Upgrading your digs from a certain Swedish design aesthetic? You may be able to cash in.

Retailer IKEA announced a pilot program to sell back your gently used IKEA furniture in exchange for store credit. One of IKEA’s sustainability goals is to become a circular business by 2030, offering sustainable and affordable options for customers.

IKEA will then list the used goods in their AS-IS section.

The service is exclusive for fully assembled and functional furniture. Recalled products, non-IKEA products, lighting, mattress, outdoor furniture, and other exclusions apply. (Don’t try bringing your “hacked” IKEA goods.)

The pilot program is only open at the IKEA Conshohocken, PA location with plans to roll out to additional US markets. The goal is to eventually make the offering a permanent service.

Interested customers can start by filling out an online form to get an email quote of your buyback item, and assessed when you drop it off in Conshohocken. Although the form is live on their website not, furniture will be accepted from September 4-19, 2021.
