One Warm Coat

Did you purchase a new winter coat this season? An upgrade for you is the perfect opportunity to make use of your old duds.

One Warm Coat is an organization dedicated to helping others by taking your old coats, jackets, sweaters and mittens of your hands (pun intended) and donating them to people in need.

This blurb on their website caught my attention: “Many of us have been in a situation at some point when we were cold and didn’t have on the right clothing to stay warm. It’s an uncomfortable and disorienting feeling that leaves you unable to think about much else, other than how cold you are.” This made me consider what it might be like to be cold, and lack the resources or funds to obtain a proper coat.

There are seven different drop off locations in Philadelphia, and plenty in the surrounding area. You can find a location here by clicking on the map at the bottom of page.

Are you a local agency interested in hosting a ‘coat drive’? One Warm Coat will work with you to donate FREE coats to your community. They’ll even drop them off at your location. Go to One Warm Coat to review their guidebook.
