Where Can I Recycle Instrument Strings?

Calling all musicians! What happens when you break a string?

You toss them in the trash, right? Most people do, and these strings are contributing to the more than 1.5 million pounds of string metal sitting in landfills every year.

However, you can go a more sustainable route.

Where to Recycle Instrument Strings

Fortunately, TerraCycle and D’Addario have partnered to create a new way to combat this issue. Whether you play the violin, guitar, bass or banjo, you can now be apart of the first-ever recycling program for instrument strings!

If saving our planet isn’t enough of an incentive, you can redeem the points you gain by donating to receive free gear and instrument accessories, or you can choose to donate to the D’Addario Foundation.
