SURPRISE: SustainPHL 2019 Guests Will Be Attending a Zero Waste Event

Green Philly is excited to reveal that this Thursday’s SustainPHL 2019 will be zero waste. Part of this effort included ditching hard-to-recycle plastic or greenwashing-compostable cups for durable, reusable cups that guests can take home and use again and again.

Thanks to sustainable outdoor apparel and accessories brand United By Blue, SustainPHL guests will use these beautiful and 100% stainless steel 16oz tumblers for the event’s drinks. The tumblers will replace disposable, single-use plastic cups and bring us another vital step closer to showing others how to make sustainability easy and accessible.

Why is United by Blue Supporting this effort? For one, they recently decided to eliminate plastic from their business where possible.

“Green Philly is a thought leader in the city and has built an organization that we respect deeply for their dedication to moving Philadelphia towards a more sustainable future. At United By Blue, we have made a commitment to eliminate all single-use plastic from our business by 2020 and we are proud to support SustainPHL, Green Philly’s signature event, with reusable drinkware that will eliminate plastic from this year’s event!”

Mike Cangi, Co-Founder, United By Blue
