The Streets Department is running a special promotion to get a Super Recycling Bin in your hands. Bigger is better when it comes to recycling, since you can pick up a free ‘standard size’ bin from the city anytime.
Households that donate at least 2,000 points to the Recyclebank Green School Program by March 15th are eligible. Recyclebank (in partnership with Philadelphia’s Recycle Rewards Program) is awarding environmental project grants up to $2500 to K-12 schools. For example, the Bache-Martin Elementary School (Fairmount/Francesville neighborhoods) wants to place bike racks for students. Anne Frank Elementary School (2000 Bowler) needs funding for three gardens, which will help teach the students about the environment and giving back to the community. Schools can also get $500 extra dollars by Domtar Corporation for every school that raises at least 50% of their goal.
Want a 32-gallon super bin? You must complete this 2-step process:
Philadelphia Schools participating in the Recylebank Green Schools Program include (as well as their process as of 2/26, including Goal, % Completed, Points needed for 50% & Points needed for 100%.):
