Top 4 Green Professional Organizations to Get Involved With

Are you looking to get involved in Philly’s sustainability scene?

Whether you’re looking to switch careers or simply involve your company, here’s a few of our favs for today’s Where Can I Wednesday.

4 green professional philly Organizations

  1. Sustainable Business Network (SBN): Connect with 400+ small business owners concerned with triple bottom line businesses (AKA the 3 P’s: Planet, People & Profit). With an ambitious task list for the new administration, SBN champions small business goals and improving our local economy.
  2. Net Impact Philadelphia: The professional chapter of Net Impact represents professionals from the greater Philadelphia area. The organization holds events and seeks to make a positive change in areas from community development to sustainability to education reform.
  3. Delaware Valley Green Building Council (DVGBC): We talk about what’s in our food or recycling bin, but what about where we live, work and play? The Delaware Valley Green Building Council (DVGBC) is the local arm of the United States Green Building Council. From architects and developers to consultants, connect with people and organizations that want to make our buildings sustainable, profitable and healthy places to live.
  4. The Society of Women Environmental Professionals of Greater Philadelphia (SWEP): Ladies, we got our own group! According to the SWEP website, this is the local chapter of “a national non-profit professional association of women involved or interested in environmental law, science, business, and policy. Our Philadelphia Chapter serves as a resource for members in the Philadelphia region, providing opportunities for professional development through educational programming, social events, mentoring, and public service.”
