Go Green Expo, Earth SaturDay, SustainaBall & Philly Earth Week Events

Happy Earth month!  Philly’s packed with eco-friendly events for Earth Week!  (For a complete listing, feel free to check out our new Philly Events Calendar page!

Here are some highlights of upcoming events to visit:

  • Friday, April 16-Sunday, April 18th: Visit the Go Green Expo in Philly this weekend!  With a show-floor of over 200 environmentally-friendly products, services, businesses and nonprofit organizations in all categories of green living (from green gadgets to food to clothing), interactive seminars and panel discussions on the hottest green topics, a Green Kids Zone and keynote speeches by eco-leaders the Go Green Expo has something for everyone!  10AM – 5 PM daily, Greater Philadelphia Expo Center, 100 Station Ave., Oaks, PA
  • Earth Day: Thursday, April 22nd: Celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day at the National Constitution Center by Calculating the Founding Fathers carbon footprints, Food & Government relationship lectures, “Recycle Bowl” game show, recycled-paper craft-making for kids. Free with museum admission, National Constitution Center, 525 Arch Street,  Independence Mall, Philadelphia, PA 19106
  • Earth Day: Thursday, April 22nd: See amazing eco-friendly fashions by the talented Moore college students at the 13th annual Trash Fashion Show! Designs by students are made entirely of recycled or reused items; Students construct garments using items such as electrical tape, soy packets, shower curtains, used candy wrappers, phone wire and old CDs.  2 shows – 11:30 AM & 6 PM, The Great Hall, Moore College of Art & Design, 20th Street and The Parkway, Philadelphia, PA 19103, Free & open to the public.
  • Friday, April 23rd: SustainaBall’s elegant Earth week evening include local food, eco-chic cocktails, live music, silent auction & the chance to schmooze with local green leaders. The Chestnut Club, 1529 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia PA 19102. Cocktail Attire Suggested, Tickets start at $75.
  • Saturday, April 24th: Earth SaturDay comes to the 900 block of South St.  Join Whole Foods, Big Green Earth Store, Sun & Earth, Grid Magazine and a host of other local “green” businesses and nonprofit organizations as to celebrate EARTH SaturDAY  features giveaways, live music from local musicians, & Bring your own laundry detergent bottles to refill with Sun & Earth. (If you’re one of the first 25 to BYOB, receive up to 50 oz. laundry detergent refill FREE! South Street from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Sunday, April 25th: Getting hitched soon? Do it the eco-friendly way with help from the Unbridaled Expo! Entry gets you a dress sample sale, sustainable wedding ideas on a budget, alterations, accessories, beauty, flowers & more! Wardrobe Boutique, 1822 Spring Garden St, Philadelphia PA, $10 for brides/guest
